Chettinad architecture is falling apart due to negligence and are being dismantled systematically for the reuse of its materials for construction.
Save Chettinad is an organization that works towards restoring the cultural, social and economic sustainability of the Chettinad region – especially its architecture and local masonry. We have restored about 30 houses in places like Karaikudi, Pallathur, Athangudi, Kothamangalam and Nattarasankottai in the past 5 years. In addition to this, our team is involved in building sustainable infrastructure across Tamil Nadu – resorts, schools and houses.
